Job Purpose:
The Junior Estimator will support the Estimation Department in preparing competitive and accurate estimates for various commercial refurbishment and fit-out projects. The role involves assisting in the entire estimation process, from initial inquiry to final bid submission, under the guidance of senior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and submission of detailed bids and tenders for commercial refurbishment and fit-out projects.
Help analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
Participate in consultations with clients, vendors, and internal teams to discuss and formulate estimates.
Support the maintenance and management of a centralized cost estimating database.
Contribute to analyzing completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs.
Help identify areas for procedural improvements to reduce discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.
Provide administrative and technical support to senior estimating staff and the Estimation Manager.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
At least 2 years of experience in an estimating role, preferably within the refurbishment and fit-out sector.
Familiarity with estimating software such as ConQuest, CostX, or similar is desirable. Skills:
Good numerical and IT skills including proficiency in MS Excel.
Basic understanding of UK construction processes, labor costs, and legal regulations.
Ability to interpret architectural drawings and furniture layouts.
Organizational skills with the ability to assist in managing multiple projects. Personal Attributes:

Must be eligible to work in the UK. Work Environment:
Office-based with occasional site visits as required.
