Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: Paddock Wood, Kent
Salary: £30,000 - £36,000 DOE
THE OPPORTUNITY
CPXR is recruiting for a Junior Estimator to join an established sub-contractor based in Kent.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in groundworks and civil enginnering who is looking for progression.
The role will involve supporting the estimating team across a range of civil engineering, groundworks and infrastructure projects, assisting with take-offs, pricing, subcontractor enquiries and tender submissions while developing your estimating career.

THE ROLE
* Assist with preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for civils and groundworks projects
* Complete material and labour take-offs from drawings, specifications and tender documentation
* Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
* Assist with pricing groundworks, drainage, concrete, utilities, earthworks and associated civil engineering packages
* Support Senior Estimators and the wider commercial team throughout the tender process
* Maintain accurate estimating records, cost information and tender documentation
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
* Experience as a Junior Estimator, Trainee Estimator, Assistant Estimator or Estimating Assistant
* Background in civil engineering, groundworks, construction or infrastructure
* Experience or understanding of quantity take-offs, tender pricing and cost estimating
* Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and construction estimating software, with the ability to interpret technical drawings
* Strong numerical, commercial, organisational and communication skills
* A relevant HNC/HND, degree or other qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction would be advantageous, although practical industry experience will also be considered
