The Junior Estimator (Mechanical Estimator/Electrical Estimator/M&E Estimator) job itself which is an opportunity to grow with the company & potentially take over from the Director in time. Day to day, you will assist in preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for commercial electrical projects. This role is ideal for someone starting their career in the mechanical/electrical industry, and offers real career development. More specifically:
* Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for commercial electrical projects.
* Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates.
* Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimates.
* Help identify potential risks and opportunities in the estimating process.
* Maintain and update a database of cost information and unit prices.
* Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and supporting documentation.
* Collaborate with senior estimators and other team members to ensure the accuracy and completeness of estimates.
Office Hours: Monday – Friday 8.30 am – 5.00 pm
You will have
To be successful as Junior Estimator (Mechanical Estimator/Electrical Estimator/M&E Estimator), you will have a healthy mix of the following:
* Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
* Basic understanding of electrical systems and components.
* Internship or prior experience in estimating or a related field.
* Familiarity with estimating software and tools.
* Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
