About the role

Dome Consulting is looking for an ambitious Junior Electrical Commissioning Manager / Graduate Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our growing commissioning team and work across a number of high-profile projects in Central London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an electrical engineer who wants to develop their career within commissioning management, working alongside experienced professionals on complex commercial and high-specification projects.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have a strong electrical engineering foundation and practical experience within electrical installation, inspection, testing or commissioning.

You may currently be working as an Electrical Engineer, Electrical Project Engineer, Electrical Site Engineer, Electrical Commissioning Engineer, Electrical Supervisor or similar, and be looking for the next step in your career.

We would also consider Electrical Engineering graduates who have limited hands-on experience but can demonstrate strong technical knowledge, enthusiasm and a genuine interest in developing a career within commissioning.

What you'll be doing

Working alongside our experienced commissioning team, you will gain exposure to the full commissioning process, including:

* Supporting the delivery and management of electrical commissioning activities across multiple projects.

* Attending site meetings and coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, consultants and project teams.

* Reviewing electrical installation works and commissioning requirements.

* Supporting inspection, testing and commissioning activities.

* Reviewing test results, commissioning documentation and technical information.

* Assisting with commissioning programmes, schedules and progress reporting.

* Identifying, recording and tracking commissioning issues through to resolution.

* Witnessing testing and demonstrations of electrical systems.

* Supporting the preparation and review of commissioning documentation and handover information.

* Developing an understanding of integrated systems testing and the interaction between electrical and other building services.

* Working closely with senior Commissioning Managers and progressively taking responsibility for your own commissioning activities and packages.

The role will involve working across multiple Central London projects, providing excellent exposure to different buildings, systems, contractors and clients.

About you

We're looking for someone who is technically strong, commercially aware and keen to develop within the commissioning industry.

You could be an ideal candidate if you have:

* A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

* Practical experience within electrical installation, inspection, testing or commissioning.

* Knowledge of electrical systems within commercial buildings.

* Experience with, or a good understanding of, electrical inspection and testing.

* 2391 qualification or equivalent practical inspection and testing experience would be highly advantageous.

* The ability to read and understand electrical drawings and specifications.

* Good communication and organisational skills.

* A confident and professional approach when dealing with contractors and project teams.

* A willingness to work on site and travel between Central London projects.

* A genuine interest in developing a long-term career in commissioning management.

Graduate candidates

We are also open to considering recent Electrical Engineering graduates who may not yet have extensive hands-on experience.

For graduate candidates, we would particularly value:

* A strong Electrical Engineering degree.

* A placement or internship within construction, MEP, building services or an engineering environment.

* Strong technical understanding and problem-solving ability.

* A practical, hands-on mindset.

* Excellent communication skills.

* The ambition to learn and progress into commissioning management.
