Job Opportunity: Specialist Joiner (2nd Fix & Acoustic Panelling)

Location: North East (Newcastle / Durham / Tyneside areas)

Pay Rate: £23.00 per hour (CIS)

Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)

The Opportunity

Are you a precision Joiner who takes real pride in high-end internal finishes?

Search Consultancy is recruiting a skilled operative for an upcoming commercial fit-out project. This role centres on high-spec internal finishing-specifically hanging precision door sets and installing decorative, high-performance acoustic wall panelling.

If you hold a Blue or Gold CSCS card, have an eye for fine detail, and want a consistent, well-paid run of 2nd fix work with a highly organised main contractor, this is an excellent fit.

Your Role & Responsibilities

Working on a modern commercial site, you will be delivering high-spec interior carpentry:

Acoustic Wall Panelling: Measuring, accurately cutting, and installing slatted timber acoustic panels and feature wall cladding strictly to architectural layouts and design specs.

2nd Fix Internal Doors: Hanging, swinging, and dressing timber door sets, lining frames, and installing high-grade architectural ironmongery (latches, closers, handles).

Detailed Trim & Finishing: Fitting skirtings, architraves, window boards, and cover trims with clean, tight mitres and flush joints.

Architectural Compliance: Reading and working directly off detailed interior drawings to maintain visual symmetry, gap tolerances, and pattern alignment across large panel surfaces.

Material Management: Handling expensive, pre-finished acoustic panels and hardwoods carefully to eliminate surface damage and minimize site waste.

What We're Looking For

To meet the site's strict quality standards, applicants must hold:

CSCS Card: A valid Blue (Skilled Worker) or Gold (Advanced Craft / Supervisor) CSCS card is strictly mandatory. (Red or Green cards cannot be accepted for this role).

Specialist Joinery Experience: Proven track record in 2nd fix internal joinery with practical experience installing acoustic panelling or detailed timber feature walls.

Tools & Kit: Your own full kit of professional 110v or cordless power tools (fine-tooth mitre saw, routers, plunge saw, track guide, nailers, laser level) and standard 5-point PPE.

Workmanship: High aesthetic standards-delivering smooth, square, and flush finishes essential for commercial handovers.

Right to Work: Valid proof of right to work in the UK.

Why Work With Search?

Strong Market Rate: A dependable rate of £23.00 per hour paid under CIS.

Full-Time Hours: Guaranteed 40-hour working week with consistent, daily site schedules.

Quality Projects: Work alongside reputable main contractors on clean, high-spec commercial builds across the region.

Dependable Payroll: Accurate, on-time CIS payments hitting your account every single Friday.

Dedicated Desk: Direct access to our North East trades recruitment team, keeping top-tier joiners continuously working on local projects.

Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age
