The Opportunity

Are you an all-round, experienced Joiner looking for top-rate contract work in County Durham?

Search Consultancy is recruiting a versatile Site Joiner for a major project in Durham. Paying a competitive £23.00 per hour (CIS), this role offers steady hours and long-term site continuity for a hard-working tradesperson capable of handling both 1st and 2nd fix operations.

If you hold a valid Blue or Gold CSCS card, have your own tools and transport, and want reliable weekly pay with a trusted main contractor, we want to hear from you.

Your Role & Responsibilities

Working closely with site management and sub-contractor teams, you will carry out a broad scope of internal and external joinery tasks:

1st Fix Joinery: Constructing stud partition walls, timber framing, floor joists, roof timbering, and fitting door linings or sub-frames to project drawings.

2nd Fix Joinery: Fitting doors, ironmongery, skirtings, architraves, window cills, stair components, and kitchen/storage units.

Finishing & Adjustments: Scribing, trimming, and fine-tuning fittings to ensure clean joints, tight mitres, and a high-quality finished standard.

Material & Site Care: Working safely alongside other trades, managing materials efficiently, and maintaining clean, safe working areas at all times.

What We're Looking For

To satisfy commercial site rules and health and safety standards, applicants must possess:

CSCS Card: A valid Blue (Skilled Worker) or Gold (Advanced Craft / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery) CSCS card is strictly mandatory.

Trade Experience: Proven track record in general 1st and 2nd fix site joinery across commercial or residential builds.

Tools & Kit: Full 110V or cordless joinery tool kit (saws, routers, nailers, hand tools) and standard 5-point PPE.

Transport: Reliable transport to commute to the site in Durham daily.

Right to Work: Valid proof of right to work in the UK.
