Location: Garretts Green, Birmingham
Pay: £14.50 per hour plus overtime
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30am–4:30pm; Friday, 7:30am–12:30pm
We are recruiting an experienced Jigger / Electroplater for a manufacturing company based in Garretts Green, Birmingham.
We are looking for someone who has previously worked as a jigger in an electroplating or metal-finishing company. Experience of checking acids and chemical solutions is also desirable.
Duties and responsibilities
* Hanging, wiring and positioning metal components on jigs and racks ready for electroplating.
* Preparing components for the plating process and removing them once treatment is complete.
* Checking acid baths and chemical solutions, including concentrations and pH levels where required.
* Monitoring temperatures and recording chemical test results.
* Reporting abnormal readings and identifying potential problems with plating solutions.
* Inspecting finished components for quality and defects.
* Following health and safety procedures when working with chemicals and plating equipment.
Requirements
* Essential: Previous jigging experience within an electroplating or metal-finishing company.
* Experience checking acids, testing chemical solutions or maintaining plating baths would be an advantage.
* Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
* A responsible approach to health and safety.
