Role: Java Engineer
Location: Hybrid Working/ flexible approach to location.

Salary / Rate of pay: £40-60,000 DOE

Platinum recruitment is working with a market leading insurance company going through a period of growth and are looking for talented, dynamic Java Engineers to play a key role in testing, developing and maintaining key functions within the business.

What's involved?

Design, develop, and implement robust Java applications using Spring Boot.
Create and maintain clean, well-documented, and efficient code.
Develop and implement unit tests to ensure code quality and functionality.
Utilize software management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) for efficient project tracking and collaboration.
Work collaboratively with other engineers, designers, and product owners to deliver solutions on time and within budget.
Build and maintain APIs utilizing web services protocols like RESTful, SOAP, and JSON.
Manage and maintain code versions using Git version control system.
Support live applications and software delivery life cycles.

What you need:

Extensive experience in Java programming language (minimum 3+ years).
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles (OOP).
Proven experience with Spring Boot framework for building APIs.
Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit).
Proficiency in using software management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
Familiarity with Git version control system.
Experience with web services protocols (RESTful, SOAP, JSON) a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
An understanding of the insurance industry and processes.
