Job Specification: Java Developer with Client Connectivity Experience

Position: Java Developer (Client Connectivity Experience)

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Location: London (Hybrid)

Rate: £(Apply online only) per day via umbrella

Client: Confidential (Top-tier Investment Bank)

About the Role:

A highly skilled Java Developer with extensive experience in client connectivity is sought for a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will work on critical financial systems and will be instrumental in ensuring seamless client integration's and connectivity.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java applications for client connectivity.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.

- Work closely with client technology teams to facilitate smooth integration and connectivity.

- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.

- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for technical solutions.

- Provide third-level support for production issues related to client connectivity.

Required Skills and Experience:

- Java Development: 5+ years of professional experience in Java development.

- Client Connectivity: Proven experience in client connectivity solutions within the financial services sector.

- Spring Framework: Extensive experience with Spring, Spring Boot, and other related technologies.

- API Development: Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and Web Services.

- Messaging Systems: Experience with messaging systems such as JMS, Kafka, or similar.

- Database Management: Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL).

- Version Control: Experience with version control systems such as Git.

- Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile development practices and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).

- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Knowledge of financial products and trading systems.
