Working hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week

Japanese speaking Settlement Clerk - Responsibilities:

* To support CLS processing.

* To be the central coordinator for London Operations Incident reporting to Head Office

* To work closely with Head Office with respect to regular Business Continuity Planning testing, and design.

* Trade Capture validation and authorisation of all approved products, per product catalogue.

* Confirmation management covering preparation, distribution, matching, chasing and query handling regarding confirmations via SWIFT, Telephone, email, electronic matching platforms, and in-house systems.

* Preparation & timely settlement of Cash & Securities via market platforms: SWIFT, AutoPay Online, BoE, Euroclear, RepoClear, JPM, HSBC etc.

* Ongoing portfolio management covering corporate actions, fixings, margin calls (cash & securities),

* Investigations and query handling

* Timely communication, investigation and resolution of nostro and custody reconciliation breaks.

* Verify nostro agent, custody, brokerage, clearing house and other fees, and prepare payment instructions for Manager’s approval.

* Cash Management: Preparation, monitoring and reporting of intra-day cash balances and projected nostro balances.

* Opening, closing, and preparation or input into NOVAS II (accounting system).

* To support the requests of the Banks internal and external auditors, and those of its customers as coordinated by management.

* To proactively escalate irregular incidents to the line manager for coordination with Branch Management and Head Office as deemed necessary.

* To be cross-trained in the daily SFTR (Securities Financing Transactions Regulation) reporting using DTCC, IHS Markit, & SFTR EUD.

* Any other duties management may reasonably require

Japanese speaking Settlement Clerk - Requirements:

* Japanese mother tongue level

* Previous experience in a similar role in banking sector (back office).

* Team player and good communication skills
