Description:
Our client has an urgent requirement for a Technical Architect specialising in Mobile Applications, to join the team on a 3-6 month contract based in Watford.
About the Role:
The Technical Architect will be responsible for the following:
* Overseeing the technical design process for new projects or modifications to our cloud, web, and mobile applications
* Ensuring designs comply with good data practices, regulatory standards, security frameworks, and relevant best practices
* Identifying and documenting non-functional requirements, and making sure these are reviewed and integrated into technical designs
* Developing and refining our technical standards and principles for cloud, web, and mobile applications by staying informed about emerging trends and collaborating with partners and internal technical teams
* Coordinating IT technical team activities throughout the project or change lifecycle
* Participating in departmental change-request and IT design meetings to ensure sound technical designs and support plans that address risks
About You:
To be successful in this role, the Technical Architect will have knowledge / skills in the following areas:
* Expertise in cloud (AWS), web, and mobile application technologies
* Collaborating with business stakeholders at various levels to understand their requirements and translating these needs into appropriate technical designs
* Coordinating internal and external IT technical work streams necessary for the successful delivery of new cloud, web, and mobile projects or changes
* Proficiency in single sign-on, identity and access management (IAM), and application role-based access
* Playing a key role in IT strategy and planning, focusing on maximizing the value of current IT solutions, consolidating applications where applicable, and enhancing integration among applications
* Reviewing and providing advice on third-party technical designs
General Skills:
* Collaborating across an organization at all levels, demonstrating excellent business-facing analytical and communication skills
* Ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences and business topics to technical teams
* Comfortable with focusing on continuous improvement and new ideas, deriving value from legacy applications
* Strong analytical skills combined with a pragmatic approach to technical design and delivery
* Ability to redesign current architecture to reduce risks related to availability and complexity
* Experienced team leader with the capability to plan, coordinate, and manage technical teams and tasks supporting change delivery
* Proven ability to identify risks and recommend practical solutions
* Experience in an agile business environment, such as retail and hospitality
* Degree educated
