Location: Southampton
Start Date: September
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term Contract
Pay: £168 – £250 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

About the College

Supply Desk is proud to be supporting a well-established sixth form college in Southampton that is seeking an IT Teacher to join its team from September on a long-term basis.

The college provides a broad range of academic and vocational pathways for learners aged 16–19 and is recognised for its highly inclusive culture, supportive learning environment, and commitment to helping students progress successfully into higher education, apprenticeships, and employment. The Role

We are seeking an IT Teacher to deliver engaging and high-quality lessons to students studying BTEC Information Technology and related Level 3 vocational qualifications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting learners in developing both their theoretical understanding and practical IT skills, preparing them for further study and future careers within the digital sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or industry professional with teaching qualifications who is passionate about helping post-16 learners achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging BTEC IT lessons to post-16 learners
Support students in developing practical and theoretical IT knowledge
Prepare learners for coursework, assessments, and examinations
Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback
Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Contribute to curriculum development and department initiatives
Support students in developing employability and digital skills relevant to industry

Candidate Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
Degree in Information Technology, Computing, Digital Technologies, or a related subject
Experience teaching IT, Computing, or Digital qualifications
Strong knowledge of vocational and/or BTEC pathways
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Commitment to supporting and motivating post-16 learners
