I've been engaged on aProject to recruit a 1st /2nd Line Support Engineer for a leading housing andCare business in Edinburgh. It is a not-for-profit organisation and a ScottishCharity, providing housing and support services for older people in Scotland.
Your new role
You will act as the first point of contact for the organisation's staff for all issues relating to technology, service requests and to ensure the efficient use of the company's investment in technology. To act as first line support for issues and attempt to resolve issues on the first contact. Where necessary, to visit remote sites to assist in resolving network, hardware, and software issues. Ensure that technology asset management policies are fully adhered to. Work with Suppliers, Consultants and Contractors wherein you procure and raise issues. Take ownership of complaints and issues, focusing on providing the right solution, keeping customers up to date with progress. Hybrid role out of Edinburgh, so you need to be based in or around Edinburgh.
What you'll need tosucceed
To be successful youneed to have experience working with O365, Microsoft, Citrix, VMware and Cisco.You need to have prior hands-on experience with resolving hardware and softwareissues.
You need to be basedin Glasgow and need to have a Full UK Drivers licence as you need to travel tosites to fix issues.
An understanding of ICT security principals and best practices. Up to date technical skills in a range of infrastructure technologies including Microsoft Office365. Knowledge of ITIL principles, processes, and structures. Up-to-date working knowledge of all relevant professional practice and legislation.What you'll get inreturn
This is a 8 week contract with possibility of extension and paying up to £18.75 per hour It is a hybridrole, and it requires travel to various sites, so you need to be based inGlasgow or Edinburgh.
