12 Month Placement

We are currently looking for an ambitious and self-motivated placement student to join our Agile Software Delivery Team for 12 months as part of a university degree as a IT Student Business Analyst. It is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience and develop a number of key skills that will help you to pursue your career in IT.

As an IT Student Business Analyst you will work on the analysis of changes to websites and applications that support our network of over a 110 offices (both in the UK and Australia) and used by our customers to manage their training and compliance. Working within the Agile and Scrum framework, you will play a key role in the analysis of business activities to define and document processes, solutions and software requirements for the delivery of technology initiatives. You will also be involved in the quality assurance stage of the software development lifecycle.

IT Student Business Analyst main responsibilities:

* Support the Business Analyst with elicitation of requirements, product backlog management, prioritisation, and Sprint planning

* Writing User Stories that follow the INVEST principles with well-defined Acceptance Criteria

* Document business process and requirements using appropriate modelling and diagramming techniques

* Write and execute manual test scripts to support the release of functional and reliable software

* Document, track and escalate issues as appropriate using issue tracking tools

* Participate in Agile meetings and help the team to continuously improve

IT Student Business Analyst skills & qualifications:

* Excellent time management and organisation skills

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Strong analytical and problem solving skills

* Keen eye for detail

* Understanding of the software development lifecycle

* Proficiency in using Microsoft Office

* Confidence and proficiency in using Web, App and desktop applications

It would be advantageous for you to have experience/ knowledge of the following:

* Knowledge of Agile/ Scrum methodologies, User Stories, SQL Server and MS Windows environments

* Some exposure to MS.Net technology stack

* Intermediate Excel

Candidates must be enrolled in an applicable IT degree course.
