Description
To be the professional lead and design authority on behalf of the Head of Digital Services for all aspects of Digital Services security.
Manage and oversee the technology security infrastructure within the public sector.
Lead a team of IT professionals in mitigating potential security risks.
Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data.
Develop and implement effective IT security policies and procedures.
Coordinate response to IT security incidents.
Carry out regular system audits to identify vulnerabilities.
Provide training to staff regarding IT security best practices.
Stay abreast of the latest IT security trends and threats.Profile
A successful IT Security Officer should have:
Experience in a leadership role within a Technology department.
Strong knowledge of IT security protocols, systems, and threat mitigation.
Proven ability to manage a team of IT professionals.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to train others.* Demonstrable experience of designing, developing and implementing ICT security policies within an overall Information Management strategy;
* Extensive and proven track record of being the corporate lead on ICT Security matters;
* Demonstrable experience of designing and managing technical security audit and accreditation activities;
* Experience of liaising with other organisations and agencies on IT security matters
* Demonstrable knowledge of vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and security audits.
Job Offer
A competitive salary range of £55,000 - £64,000 per year, DoE
