IT Security Analyst
Position: IT Security Analyst
Location: Sheffield Support Centre, S9 1XH
Contract type: Full time, 40 hours per week
Rate: Up to £40,000 per annum full time equivalent
This is an exciting opportunity to join our IT Security & Infrastructure team, supporting the day-to-day delivery of IT security across Exemplar Health Care.
In this role, you’ll support the day-to-day delivery of IT security across Exemplar Health Care, taking ownership of assigned security activities while coordinating security audits, testing and improvement activities.

About the role
As an IT Security Analyst with Exemplar Health Care, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our IT systems and confidential information are safe and secure.
No two days will be the same, but your key responsibilities will include:
• managing day-to-day security activities, including security monitoring, vulnerability management, endpoint and email security
• investigating and responding to security incidents and threats, coordinating remediation where required
• identifying, tracking and managing security risks and vulnerabilities through to remediation
• coordinating security audits, penetration testing and other assurance activities, including managing findings through to completion
• coordinating activities and evidence for security frameworks, including NCSC CAF, Cyber Essentials and NHS DSPT
• conducting risk assessments and security reviews of new and existing suppliers and IT systems, and contributing to security policies
• coordinating assigned IT Security projects and continuous improvement activities
• producing security metrics, management information and assurance reporting
• managing security awareness activities, including phishing simulations, training and colleague guidance.

About you

You’ll also have:
• practical experience working with IT security technologies, such as endpoint and email security, Microsoft 365, Intune and vulnerability management
• good knowledge of cyber security principles, including governance, risk and assurance
• an understanding of security audits, penetration testing, risk assessments and security frameworks
• strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritise work and see actions through to completion
• excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• knowledge of security frameworks and standards, such as NCSC CAF, Cyber Essentials and CIS, would be beneficial.
• working in an IT security role can sometimes be challenging, so the ability to think on your feet and be flexible is also important in this role.
