PURPOSE OF THE JOB

* To be responsible for planning & design, supplier liaison, implementation duties, support of existing and future network installations, including the company existing LAN/WAN environments, telephony, and security infrastructure.

* Administrator responsibility for the Company Networks, services, supporting components and cloud infrastructure.

MAIN ASSIGNMENTS

* Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking components both on premise and in Microsoft’s Azure Cloud platform.

* Perform and schedule preventative maintenance and periodic high availability testing on all network equipment and disaster recovery failover testing.

* Plan and perform hardware and software upgrades and deployments.

* Schedule and implement configuration changes to the network, following the approval and change management process.

* Update, audit and maintain network diagrams and processes, support contracts, and SLA agreements.

* Monitor and test network performance and provide performance statistics and reports to ensure availability, scalability, and security.

* Build and maintain network monitoring systems, threshold settings and alerting.

* Implement and maintain security policies and procedures to protect the organization's network and data.

* Respond to security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement remediation measures to prevent future incidents.

* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with network and security components.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network and security solutions that meet business and Project requirements.

* Stay current with advancements in network and security technology and recommend changes to enhance the organization's infrastructure.

* Provide out of hours support (1 in 4-week rotation).

ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Able to design and implement a network communications, solution improvements and implementation of system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of a complex hybrid environment.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

* Experience and strong, hands-on technical knowledge of Cisco routers and switches and Check Point Firewalls essential

* Experience in administering cloud networking, preferably Microsoft Azure.

* 3+ years’ experience with WAN, LAN, VLAN, Wireless and VPN design and implementation

* Solid technical background in a hosted and cloud services environment including infrastructure, hardware, software, and telecommunications.

* Good knowledge of IT security practice including – Network segmentation, Firewall policy creation and auditing, patch management, IDS/IPS, VPN profiles and the associated tunneling technologies

* Strong working knowledge of Network design, routing and VLANs.

* Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals, IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, routing protocol operation.

* Network performance, QoS and fault tolerance diagnosis/troubleshooting for all network devices (routers, switches, WAN, LAN and Wireless circuits, firewalls, and protocols) in an enterprise environment.
