Description:

Morgan McKinley is working with a forward-thinking company with plans to create a specialised finance team dedicated to IT, Systems, and Transformation. As part of this initiative, they are seeking an IT Financial Controls Manager to reinforce their controls team, focusing on strengthening IT General Controls. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring financial integrity and regulatory compliance beyond operational standards. Your responsibilities will include safeguarding the company's financial standing during changing rules, offering important knowledge in handling IT controls, and ensuring compliance with financial standards.

As the IT Financial Controls Manager, you'll provide expert insight into the evolving UK Corporate Reform and external auditors' expectations, ensuring robust IT controls compliance. Leading the testing of IT General Controls and Application controls, you'll offer recommendations for enhancing the systems and follow-up to strengthen them. Additionally, you'll actively participate in new system implementation projects, assessing their impact on the company's entities and Business Units in the face of changing regulations. Conducting thorough gap analyses, you'll pinpoint areas of control weakness within critical IT environments. Collaborating closely with senior Tech team members, you'll identify key systems crucial for Financial Reporting. Your responsibilities will also include accurately documenting and maintaining IT General Controls and Application Controls. Moreover, you'll deliver timely reports on IT controls testing, control gaps, and improvement plans to senior stakeholders including the CITO, CFO, FDs, and the Audit Committee. Lastly, you'll serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring reliance on IT system controls, particularly for Oracle systems.

The ideal candidate must be qualified or part-qualified accountant, bringing with them a solid foundation in finance and accounting principles. You should have prior experience working in a similar role. This role is also an exceptional opportunity for someone coming from a practice background, particularly those who have experience in digital audit or related areas. Experience in accounting firms, especially with digital audits, equips you with valuable insights into financial compliance and IT controls. By applying for this position, you'll have the chance to transition into a dynamic corporate environment where you can leverage your skills to contribute to the establishment of a specialised finance team focused on IT and systems. It's an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact, driving innovation and shaping the future of finance and technology integration within the company.
