General Principles:

All members of the IT support team have a responsibility for supporting staff and pupils in carrying out the core purpose of the school: teaching and learning.

This Job Description outlines the duties for the time being of this post to indicate the level of responsibilities. It is not a comprehensive or exclusive list and duties may vary from time to time, which does not change the general character of the job or the level of responsibility.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

* To assist with the running of IT services across the whole campus as directed by the IT Systems Manager.

* To carry out first line maintenance on PC based, Google Chromebooks, iMac computer hardware and peripheral equipment and to assist with software upgrades, installation and maintenance.

* To liaise with third party contractors where appropriate for the repair/replacement of faculty equipment.

* To operate the helpdesk as part of the support team.

* To follow procedures for recording, reporting, and maintaining IT related information and records.

* To assist in the support of AV (audio/Visual) equipment and to assist in production of digital AV content for teaching staff.

* To assist in the upkeep of school intranet content.

* To provide operational support for pupils, teachers and administrative staff in the use of software.

* To undertake work as reasonably directed by senior colleagues in the department.

* Appreciate and support the role of other professionals.

* Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required.

* Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.

* Assist with pupil needs as appropriate during the school day
