NEW IP TECH LEAD Position for a Globally Renowned Broadcast and telecommunications Client**
**Contract:** INSIDE IR35
**Duration:** 6 Months (high chance of extension)
**Location:** Central London (2 days in office, 3 days WFH)
**Note:** We cannot provide sponsorship for this position.
**Summary:**
The main function of an IP Tech Lead is to supervise a scrum of Network Designers, Testers, and fulfillment engineers throughout the entire project lifecycle—from requirements gathering and analysis stages through design, testing, delivery, and hand-over to network operations and service/network reliability teams.
**Job Responsibilities:**
- Work closely and communicate proactively with Scrum Masters and Project Managers to plan project activities—daily, per sprint, and quarterly.
- Provide resource and effort estimates to Resource Managers and Scrum Masters.
- Supervise a scrum of network engineers to ensure their deliverables follow our client's best practices.
- Identify and communicate risks, exceptions, or deviations from standard processes (technical or project-related) to senior management.
- Contribute valuable input and insights to Network Designers during the design stage.
- Assist Fulfilment Engineers in writing and signing off MOPs.
- Assist Test Engineers in writing and signing off test plans.
- Act as a point of escalation during project-related issues or outages.
- Serve as an end-to-end solution owner across different teams and functions, from kick-off to hand-over.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field required. An MSc degree is a plus.
- 10-15 years of experience in the networking field, with at least 5 years in a senior role, preferably in solutions design.
- Previous experience in the telecommunications sector, preferably in a solutions design role.
- Strong understanding of networking technologies, including routing, switching, security/firewalling, load-balancing, and QoS.
- Experience with Nokia 7750 service routers, Cisco IOS XR, and NXOS.
- Familiarity with Fortinet firewalls and F5 load-balancers is a plus.
- Experience working in an Agile SAFe framework, or the ability to demonstrate such experience.
- Good project planning and management skills.
- Strong leadership and supervision skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Minimum CCNP level or equivalent from other vendors, with CCIE level or equivalent preferred.
