Brighton College Prep School is seeking an Intern (Design) to start inSeptember 2024. This is a full-time role, working in the Brighton College International (BCI) team.

The Internship (Design) role:

This will be a 6-month contract, with the possibility of an extension to the contract or a permanent position.

We are seeking a seeking a motivated and skilled Intern (Design) to support our architectural and project management team. The intern will gain experience in a dynamic environment, working alongside experienced professionals to help deliver high-quality educational spaces that align with the Brighton College ethos.

Key Responsibilities for the Internship (Design):

Assist in creating and adapting design standards and specifications for BCI projects as per the BCI Design Guidebook.

Support the selection process for new BCI project locations globally.

Help in the preparation of detailed proposals, presentations, and mood boards for project partners.

Utilise computer-aided design (CAD) software to assist in creating floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings.

Assist in producing and compiling feedback reports and presentations for BCI and partners.

Support the Director of Projects and the International Projects and Interior Design Officer in project management tasks.

What we're looking for in our Internship (Design):

Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Project Management, or a related field.

Familiarity with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign and Microsoft Office Suite.

A basic understanding of modern design trends, construction methods, and materials.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

A proactive, creative, and detail-oriented approach to tasks.

Ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a dynamic team environment.

A keen interest in the field of education and architectural and interior design, with a desire to contribute to the global success of Brighton College

Hours of Work: 

Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm with a 60 minute unpaid lunch break (37.5 hours per week). There may be scope for flexibility with these hours, this is to be discussed at interview.

Salary:

The hourly rate for this role will be based on either the National Living Wage or the National Minimum Wage depending on age
