The Opportunity
They are seeking an Intermediate Building Services Engineer (Mechanical) to join a growing team based in Billericay.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, primarily within the healthcare and education sectors. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality mechanical building services designs while supporting projects from initial concept through to completion.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
·Deliver mechanical building services designs to a high technical standard, on time and within budget.
·Prepare detailed engineering calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings.
·Meet with clients to understand project requirements and develop practical engineering solutions.
·Assist in the preparation and review of tender documentation, reports, and recommendations.
·Manage projects through all stages of design and construction.
·Carry out site inspections, surveys, commissioning activities, and condition assessments.
·Monitor installation works and ensure compliance with project specifications.
·Develop energy strategies and sustainable mechanical design solutions.
·Produce designs using IES software, AutoCAD, and Revit.
·Coordinate pipework and ductwork distribution systems with other disciplines.
·Support monthly fee forecasting and project financial performance.
 
About You
 
To be successful in this role, you will have:
·A Degree or Master's qualification in Engineering.
·Experience in mechanical building services design within the built environment.
·Proficiency with IES mechanical design software.
·Knowledge of AutoCAD and ideally Revit.
·A good understanding of current building regulations, CIBSE guidance, industry standards, and best practice.
·Strong communication and project coordination skills.
·A proven ability to manage workloads and meet project deadlines.
·Chartered Engineer status or be working towards chartership.
·Membership of CIBSE, the Energy Institute, or a similar professional body (desirable).
·A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
