Description:

Intermediate Mechanical Engineer | London | Hybrid Working | Building Services Consultancy

Salary: £38,000 - £50,000 + Bonus + Private Healthcare + Flexible Working

Are you a Mechanical Building Services Engineer looking to accelerate your career within a growing consultancy where you'll gain exposure to major projects, direct mentorship from experienced engineers and genuine long-term progression opportunities?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a design-led building services consultancy that combines technical engineering excellence with practical project delivery experience and commercial understanding.

Working across a diverse portfolio of projects, you will become part of a collaborative team delivering innovative engineering solutions across commercial, healthcare, residential, education and mixed-use developments.

Unlike many larger consultancies where engineers can become siloed within specific project stages, this role offers broad exposure across the full project lifecycle, providing an excellent platform for professional development and future progression.

The Opportunity

This position is ideally suited to an engineer with 2-4 years' building services consultancy experience who is looking to take the next step in their career.

You will work closely with senior engineers and directors, assisting with the delivery of projects from concept through to completion whilst continuing to develop your technical and client-facing skills.

Projects typically include:

Commercial offices
Workplace fit-outs
Healthcare facilities
Higher education projects
Student accommodation
Residential developments
Mixed-use schemes
Specialist technical environments
This role offers a rare opportunity to gain experience beyond pure design work, developing a wider understanding of project delivery, coordination and client requirements.

Why This Role Stands Out

Many engineers at this level are seeking greater responsibility but often find progression limited within larger organisations.

Here, you'll have the opportunity to become involved in:

Mechanical design and calculations
Site visits and surveys
Design coordination meetings
Client and stakeholder interaction
Technical reporting
Project delivery support
Construction-stage activities
Multidisciplinary collaboration
You'll work alongside experienced engineers who are invested in supporting your development, giving you the exposure and mentorship needed to continue progressing towards Senior Engineer level.

The Role

As an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer, you will support the delivery of mechanical building services designs across a variety of projects while developing your technical capabilities and project experience.

Produce design calculations, reports, specifications and technical documentation.

Contribute to maintaining high-quality technical standards across all projects.
