Position Overview: As an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing mechanical engineering designs and solutions for building services projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in building services design, a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, and proficiency in IES VE (Integrated Environmental Solutions Virtual Environment) software. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects across the commercial, residential, and public sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop mechanical engineering designs and solutions for building services projects.
* Conduct detailed analysis and simulations using IES VE software to optimize energy performance and sustainability.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
* Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
* Assist in the preparation of project proposals, reports, and presentations.
* Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
* Participate in site visits, inspections, and commissioning activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* 3-5 years of experience in mechanical building services design.
* Proficiency in IES VE software is essential.
* Strong knowledge of building services design principles and practices.
* Experience with relevant industry codes and standards.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Professional membership or working towards membership (e.g., CIBSE, IMechE) is preferred.
