Waste Services Improvement & Operational Resilience Consultant

Location: Rugby, Warwickshire
Contract: 6-Month Temporary Consultancy Assignment
Pay Rate: £28.50 per hour (PAYE)

## About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Waste Services Improvement & Operational Resilience Consultant to support a major improvement programme within Waste Services.
Working alongside the existing management team, you will drive operational improvements, strengthen management processes, coach managers and supervisors, and help deliver a safe, compliant and efficient frontline service. You will also provide temporary operational management cover during periods of absence or increased operational demand, ensuring business continuity while improvement work continues.

## Key Responsibilities

Deliver operational improvement and transformation initiatives.

Review and enhance operational processes, SOPs and governance.

Improve service performance, efficiency and customer outcomes.

Support Health & Safety compliance and safe systems of work.

Coach and mentor operational managers and supervisors.

Improve induction, training and competency processes.

Produce performance reports and improvement plans.

Work collaboratively with HR, Fleet, Finance, Procurement, Legal and Health & Safety teams.

Provide operational management cover when required.

Support service mobilisation, legislative changes and operational projects.
## About You

### Essential

Extensive experience in Waste Services or a similar frontline operational environment.
Proven track record of delivering operational improvement and organisational change.
Strong knowledge of waste operations, compliance and Health & Safety.
Experience developing operational procedures and management systems.
Excellent leadership, coaching, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Able to work strategically while remaining hands-on.
### Desirable

Local Government experience.
CIWM or equivalent qualification.
Lean, Continuous Improvement or Programme Management experience.
Health & Safety management experience.
