Contract Type: Temporary (6 months)

Salary: £500-£550 daily, DOE.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a Interim Service Manager to join our team for a temporary 6-month contract, with the possibility of leading to a permanent role. As an Interim Service Manager, you will play a crucial role in the management of the Council's corporate, operational, and commercial estate, ensuring it meets all regulatory requirements, operational needs, and is managed effectively and efficiently.

What is the day-to-day of the role:

· Work closely with the Corporate Director of Assets & Regeneration and Service Manager for Asset Management to deliver the facilities element of the strategic Asset Management plan.

· Ensure the estate is maintained and operated to ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and maintained to provide a safe and legal operation.

· Manage both hard and soft facilities management services to ensure assets are properly maintained, meet operational needs, and are cost-effective.

· Embed the Corporate Landlord Model across the Council and manage the necessary budgets for estate management.

· Procure necessary services to meet service needs, ensuring contracts deliver value for money and reflect quality, response, and compliance requirements.

· Manage a team of professionals to deliver property priorities, ensuring they are suitably trained, developed, and motivated.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

· Construction-related Degree or HND (desirable not essential)

· IOSH/NEBOSH qualified (desirable not essential)

· Membership of BIFM (desirable not essential)

· Demonstrable knowledge of Building Regulations, health, and safety legislation, etc.

· Proven experience leading a team dealing with property refurbishment or repair projects.

· Demonstrable commercial acumen and experience in project management.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong negotiation abilities.

· Professional and courteous manner in dealing with all contacts inside and outside the organization.
