TVS Interfleet are looking to recruit a highly skilled and confident Interim HSE Manager to take ownership for the business systems compliance at our McPhee Mixers site in Motherwell. Working closely with the local leadership team, as well as the QHSE and Manufacturing Director to develop process and standards, you will also have the ability to engage and influence individuals requiring support in order to achieve the highest standards we can attain, whilst also leading the cultural change required to ensure continuity.

This role will be for an initial 3 months, with a likely extension beyond this dependant on the acquisition of a new QHSE Manager on a permanent basis.

Job Description

As a member of the management team the QHSE Manager shall effectively manage all aspects of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards and provide leadership on our compliance to the wider businesses in our Commercial and Industrial Sectors.

​You will also be responsible for driving the implementation and continuous improvement in all QHSE policies, procedure and strategies.

What are the Duties and Responsibilities?

* ​Report any unmanaged Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality concerns to the QHSE and Manufacturing Director and local Management.

* Drive the implementation of the Company’s QHSE management system and propose improvements

* Develop and drive business processes, awareness and strategy to support ISO14001 and ISO45001 accreditation

* Develop and coordinate execution of the Company’s internal and external audit programme

* Coordinate and support the Company accreditation needs with certification bodies

* Lead reviews relating to the Company’s QHSE management system

* Provide guidance and information to management and employees on extant and developing QHSE legislation and best practice

* Liaise with external QHSE professionals and advisors and ensure the Company follows all legal obligations in the management of HSE

* Share best practice and improvement initiatives across the wider business where appropriate.

* Establish and maintain a safe working culture and environment across all Business locations ensuring that safety policies and procedures are implemented, so far as is reasonably practicable

* Provide management information and feedback to employees to ensure they are kept adequately informed of the Company’s performance and what they need to do to improve

* Identify and satisfy employee awareness, development and training needs for QHSE both within the department and the wider business as required

* Carry out QHSE inductions for all new starters

What qualifications or experience will you need?

Essential

* Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent and experience managing the same

* Excellent practicable knowledge for the implementation and management of ISO9001 and one or both of ISO14001 and/or ISO45001

* Demonstrable experience of managing safety and safety culture in a heavy engineering environment

* Understanding of current and emergent legislation/guidance within QHSE

Preferred

* Active member of a professional body in a related QHSE field

* Lead Auditor Training accreditation advantageous and desirable

* Mental Health at work accreditation advantageous and desirable

* 6Sigma Green Belt
