Interim Headteacher

Type: Contract

Location: Bristol

Starting salary: £307.69 per day

Hours: Full time (40 hours a week). Term time only (term times as stipulated by Bristol City Council).

Start: 01/09/2024 until further notice / permanent appointment

Our client is a successful Alternative Education Provsion based in central Bristol. They have a proven track record of supporting young people with challenging backgrounds to become successful in life and their futures. Led by a consistent, experienced, pro-active and dedicated Headteacher, the team of staff have worked hard and with a progressive ethos which are the key reasons for their success.

The current headteacher has resigned and will be leaving at the end of term 6, 2024. The school are actively recruiting on a permanent basis for a new headteacher but are realistic that they may need to appoint an Interim Headteacher until they find the right person to join on a permanent basis. The new (permanent) headteacher will build on previous successes and take the AEP to new heights. The new/interim headteacher will:

Lead and motivate the school team to provide high quality learning and raise aspirations and achievements for young people.

Support the development and delivery of learning and educational engagement with children and young people across the organisation

Support the development of outreach education programmes

Ensure that a trauma-recovery approach is at the heart of the school’s work with young people.

Students at this setting have often missed large parts of standard education so a focus on learning as well as social development will be a key part of this role. The staff team work hard to ensure they provide the best opportunities for their learners. but they know they can only achieve that through a strong collaborative team.
