Description:
We are working with a NHS Trust who are seeking to appoint an interim Head of Financial Management The role will be for 3-6 months initially and will pay in the region of £350 - £400 per day.
Key responsibilities will include:

Lead and manage the directorate’s financial management requirements, ensuring the department and its services are ‘best in class’ and have the capacity and capabilities necessary to meet current and future demand;

Lead and be responsible for the production of high quality monthly reporting of the directorate’s financial management information, income and expenditure, ensuring that outputs are robust, accurate and owned by appropriate individuals;
*
Accountable for data collection, quality and analysis relating to financial activity and deliverables within the department and at directorate level;
*
Design and maintain effective and accurate processes to capture and analyse financial and activity data;
*
Produce high quality monthly finance and activity reports, with analysis of any variance against plan;
*
Present analysis of trends, risks, opportunities and conclusions at monthly Performance Review Meetings, and other committees as required, with recommendations and forecasts as relevant;
*
Lead the Directorate’s annual business planning and budget setting process and support Heads of Department and Service Managers to provide accurate and detailed inputs;
*
Support the Directorate’s budgets holders to understand and account for their monthly income and expenditure position, assist in resolving operational issues relating to finance, and delivering their productivity improvement programmes;
*
Provide analysis of revenue and activity data in order to generate commercial insight to client and stakeholder accounts and activity patterns.
The ideal candidate will have:

CCAB Qualification or equivalent experience gained over several years;
*
Proven financial management skills;
*
Proven analytical and presentation skills;
*
Knowledge of financial processes;
*
Experience of budget management in a highly complex environment;
*
Experience within a healthcare environment
