A Interim Head of Adult Social Care is required for a London Council for 6 months paying £550 a day. Adult Social Care at the London Borough have embarked on a transformation journey. Their objective is to build a stable workforce that delivers high quality support to improve outcomes for the people of borough. This role is crucial in delivering high quality services to the Borough and therefore you will need to have held a similar role in a council previously.

The role:

We are looking for an inspirational leader to join our Senior Management team as Head of Service in Adult Social Care for Localities. This is a demanding and prestigious role in which you will hold lead responsibility for the service area to ensure the statutory responsibilities of the Council for the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and other legislative requirements are appropriately managed including joint responsibilities with external agencies. As Head of Service, you will also provide strategic guidance across a range of disciplines including the ongoing care and support for older people, disabled people and people with mental health related needs. Your leadership, management and professional advice on all aspects of family support and care planning will support us in delivering a social care service that's in line with the legislation and standards governed by the Care Quality Commission.

As the Interim Head of Service for Adult Social Care, you will also provide strategic guidance across a range of disciplines including the ongoing care and support for older people, disabled people and people with mental health related needs. Experience required:

Whilst the role can be challenging at times, with conflicting priorities, this role is also extremely rewarding. Your expertise should contain significant experience in leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team which includes social workers, team managers, occupational therapists and enabling independent officers, formerly known as assessment officers, combined with the experience of building productive partnerships with key stakeholders.

In addition, we would expect you to hold a Degree qualification in Social Care. Substantial experience as a team manager in the delivery of adult social care services as a social care professional within a large and complex organisation. Up to date knowledge and understanding of current affairs influencing local government, the social care sector and the NHS.

Experience of leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams through organisational and cultural change and delivering outcomes that require collaborative approaches. Knowledge of financial and budgetary management. Be an extraordinary leader with a track record of strengthening the delivery of effective and sustainable social care services
