Description:

Vivid are currently partnered with a PE backed Manufacturing business in Birmingham, to secure an Interim Financial Controller as a stop gap for maternity cover, starting by latest September.

The successful candidate should have prior experience in:

Key Responsibilities

* Financial Reporting & Compliance:

* Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards

* Ensure compliance with all statutory reporting requirements, tax regulations, and company policies.

* Manage the year-end audit process, acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors.

* Financial Control & Operations:

* Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.

* Manage and optimize all aspects of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.

* Oversee treasury management, including cash flow forecasting and banking relationships.

* Drive continuous improvement in finance processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

* Team Leadership & Development:

* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team (direct management of 6), fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

* Manage day-to-day operations of the finance department.

* Business Partnering & Strategic Support:

* Collaborate closely with the FP&A team to provide insightful analysis of financial performance.

* Support the Finance Director/CFO with ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects, including due diligence for potential acquisitions, post-acquisition integration, and divestments.

* Prepare financial information and presentations for the Private Equity investors and Board of Directors.

* Systems & Data Management:

* Ensure the effective utilization of ERP systems and other financial software, identifying opportunities for system enhancements and automation.

Skills & Experience Required

* Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification is essential.

* Extensive Financial Control Experience: Proven track record in a Financial Controller or similar senior accounting role, with comprehensive knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, and internal controls.

* Private Equity Exposure: Significant experience working within or closely with Private Equity-backed businesses is highly advantageous. Understanding of the demands, reporting cycles, and value creation drivers within a PE environment is crucial.

* Technical Accounting Expertise: Strong technical accounting skills, capable of interpreting and applying complex accounting standards.

With maternity set to start early September, FD/CFO would ideally like the interim assignment to start with two weeks handover.
