JOB PURPOSE:
Providing leadership of financial, and physical and digital infrastructure strategies, the Finance and Infrastructure Director will, together with the directors' group and leadership team, deliver charitable objectives and strategic goals, in line with the charity's values and educational principles. Through the development of robust financial and infrastructure planning, the Finance and Infrastructure Director will ensure that the company optimises the effectiveness of its finances and physical and digital environments.
The Finance and Infrastructure Director will lead the development and delivery of the longer-term physical infrastructure strategy, engaging the full range of external stakeholders, and focusing on how we make best use of our workplaces and learning environments to support inclusive, collaborative and creative working and learning across the business and with their members. The successful leadership of these areas will create a foundation for the effective use of financial assets, digital and physical infrastructure in support of a sustainable, stable and flexible business ready to take on future opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide executive leadership for financial, digital and physical infrastructure
Lead strategic financial planning and management
Analyse and control financial, and digital and physical infrastructure performance
Lead the development and delivery of the longer term physical infrastructure strategy
Oversee the management of the existing estate
Oversee the leadership of the digital infrastructure strategy
Ensure statutory reporting, compliance and risk management
With the Chief Executive, Operations Director and Associate Director - Professional Learning and Innovation lead the business as a learning organisation
In common with all staff, work collaboratively and be accountable for contributing to strategy and valuesQualifications & skills required:

Qualified accountant with deep knowledge and experience of budget preparation, financial reporting, and accounting routes and practices in a charity
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of strategically managing a physical infrastructure portfolio and leading the development and implementation of infrastructure strategy, including relocations
Demonstrable experience of successful external strategic stakeholder engagement, and leading beyond authority
Experience of working with trustee boards and strategic partners to configure and enable structured, evidence-based decision-making in complex governance environments
Demonstrable senior financial leadership experience of creating a financial strategy and detailed plans which support organisational strategy and objectives
Demonstratable experience of leading a successful digital transformation
Extensive experience of working with auditors, advisers, funders and other external stakeholders
Experience of liaising with local planning authorities
Understanding of Companies House SOFA and Charity SORP and other charity sector legal requirements
Digitally confident and open to experimenting with new ways of working, as well as technically competent at managing and using financial management systems and other tools to manage and analyse financial information and to engage and communicate with others
Strong commercial acumen, confidence to assess and challenge business and investment proposals and to negotiate contracts and partnerships to deliver the best value
Proven ability to write reports, strategic documents, policies and procedures for audiences at all levels in an organisation and a wide range of external partnersWhat you'll get in return

6 month flexible interim contract work
Option to possibly work part-time for the right person
Flexible/ Hybrid working also available-currently 2 days a week required in the office-preference on more for this role
