Interim Environment Specialist

Scotland

Circa £500 Per Day (Outside IR35)

Duration: Circa 6 Months (potential for extension)

Irwin and Colton have partnered with a global leader in the chemicals manufacturing industry to recruit an Interim Environment Specialist on a 6-month contract. Due to a few changes within the team recently and over the coming months, the organisation requires an individual to provide key environmental business support over the course of the transition. The role will be full time in the companies' offices with occasional site travel required.

Responsibilities of the Interim Environment Specialist will include:

Development and delivery of specific roadmaps, including regulatory environmental reporting, as well as updating and developing environmental procedures and policies.
Support development of the overall environmental strategy, working closely with the team and key stakeholders to help drive this forward across the organisation, influencing decision making and best practice.
Identify and analyse group-wide data, developing measurable action points to be incorporated in objectives throughout the organisation
Coordinate environmental risk compliance on site, by ensuring changing legislation across each region is continually updated and adhered to, including COMAH relations and PPC
Act as the main point of contact for the sustainability program with key stakeholders including clients, contractors, and regulatorsThe successful Interim Environment Specialist will have:

Proven Environment Management experience, ideally within chemicals, oil and gas, manufacturing, or industrial environments
Off shore experience is ideal
Strong technical knowledge across relevant environmental and sustainability legislation, compliance, and regulations
Degree level qualification or equivalent, in an appropriate environmental discipline, and ideally hold (or working towards) a professional membership with a recognised environmental body (IEMA, CIEEM, CIWEM)
