We are working with an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint an Interim Clinical Services Manager for CAMHS. This role will start ASAP and will be for 6 months initially.

The role will be at band 8a under the AfC NHSI Agency Capped rates.

The organisation are looking for a dynamic individual to join the team as the Clinical Team Manager and ensure they are delivering outstanding services to the children and young people of the specified CAMHS catchment area. The service works with young people up to 18 years old who experience a range of difficulties associated with their mental health. The successful appointee would be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team who offer assessment, treatment, and consultation either in the clinic base or out in the community.

Key responsibilities will include:

Hold overall management responsibility for all aspects of service delivery and operational matters for Community CAMHS;
Manage and supervise a diverse group of staff from a range of professional backgrounds;
Build and maintain strong working relationships with partner agencies supporting the development of integrated care pathways and locality working;
Provide great leadership with enthusiasm for service transformation and determination to provide outstanding quality of care, ensuring that children and young people are kept at the heart of everything;
Responsible for coordinating and motivating the team, having robust oversight of waiting lists and working with key colleagues to ensure continuity of service.
The ideal candidate will have:

Professional knowledge acquired through degree/diploma;
Profession Health or Social Care Qualification;
Current professional registration with appropriate professional body e.g. NMC, HCPC;
Knowledge of child safeguarding procedures and how these can be applied to a CAMHS setting;
Understanding of the legal and social policy issues influencing the work environment;
Extensive experience in experience in a mental health setting, working with young people or adults with mental illness and / or learning disabilities;
Experience of leading a development or change within a service setting;
Experience of working with children and young people who have serious mental illness and their families and carers in the community;
Understanding of evidence-based practice and the ability to demonstrate how this influences clinical practice.
