Interim Chief Engineer

A highly respected public sector organisation in Cambridge is looking to appoint a Chief Engineer on an interim basis for up to 6 months to help provide high level support to their M&E function across an active and diverse estate.
Utilising your experience of operating in a “Chief Engineer” capacity, you will take your skills, experience, and knowledge into the organisation to plan, develop, deliver, and monitor mechanical and electrical standards of this service. As with a role of this nature, ensuring these operations are planned and delivered in a timely and economical manner that mitigates business risk is a given, as well as making sure industry best practices around compliance and legislation are met and adhered to.
You will assist in the long term strategic planning for major services infrastructure across this inspiring organisation, ensuring a best-in-class, compliant and proactive M&E function is delivered.
This role would suit candidates who have (or are working towards) chartered engineer status, as well as extensive experience of operating in a senior level capacity. Having experience of working across a diverse and active estate is essential, as well as having outstanding communication and people skills.
This is an interim role, and the expectation would be for the successful candidate to start promptly following an offer
