Interim Career and Employability Officer

JP Recruitment are proud to be exclusively working with a Further Education organisation, based in Corby, to recruit an Interim Career and Employability Officer. This contract is to start in September 2024 and will go on until May/June 2025.

Specific responsibilities include:

Provide information and guidance to students for job seeking.
Deliver support to develop the employability skills of students, such as developing CV's, provide supported job search and help them to prepare for interviews including delivering interview techniques and styles.
Inspire and motivate students to achieve their career goals.
Identify and recommend suitable job and training opportunities.
Work closely with employers to develop work related opportunities for students.
Work closely with students to match them to work based learning and work experience opportunities and ensure that they are well-prepared to undertake them.
Support the work required for organising career development learning and related programmes, careers fairs, programmes of presentations, groupwork, and meetings.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Educated to HND/degree level or equivalent and/or relevant vocational qualification such as an NVQ Level 3 in Advice and Guidance or similar. Equivalent work experience may be accepted in lieu of formal qualifications.
A good standard of literacy and numeracy equivalent to GCSE English and Maths
Extensive experience of working with employers
Experience of developing employability activities and opportunities
Relevant experience in a similar role supporting students in being professionally ready to enter the workplace.
Experience of providing first-line advice and guidance
