Description:

We are supporting a national care trust at a pivotal time as they strengthen and evolve services for people with learning disabilities and other complex needs and we are now seeking an Interim Assistant Director to work alongside the senior management team.
You will help shape and deliver high-impact, person-centred care across a diverse portfolio of services, working in a hybrid capacity with senior leaders and frontline teams.

You will provide strategic and operational leadership for learning disability services, ensuring they are safe, effective, and aligned with current legislation and best practice. Working closely with the Director and senior stakeholders, you will drive service improvement, modernisation, and integration across the trust’s national footprint. Your work will directly impact the quality of life and outcomes for people with learning disabilities and other complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and oversee learning disability service delivery across designated areas, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance.
* Develop and implement strategic service plans that reflect national policy, local needs, and organisational priorities.
* Provide visible leadership to multidisciplinary teams, setting clear expectations and supporting managers to deliver high-performing services.
* Ensure services operate in line with learning disabilities legislation, safeguarding requirements, and regulatory standards.
* Champion person-centred practice, co-production, and rights-based approaches across all learning disability services.
* Contribute to organisational planning, reporting, and governance, presenting clear updates and recommendations to senior leadership.

Key Requirements:
* Proven leadership experience within learning disability or closely related social care/health services.
* Strong track record of managing and motivating multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites or services.
* In-depth knowledge of learning disabilities legislation, policy, and regulatory frameworks.
* Skilled in managing change, service redesign, and improvement programmes in a care setting.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to operate credibly at senior level.

If you are a confident, strategic leader with a strong learning disabilities background and ready to make a tangible impact in a national care trust, we would like to hear from you
