Role: Interim Accountant
Employment Type: 6 month Contract with the potential for permanent employment thereafter
Location: 2 days in Manchester, 3 days remote
Our Transport client are looking for an Interim Accountant who holds an Accounting Qualification or is Part Qualified (CIPFA, CIMA, ACA, ACCA). You will join the team as directed support for the provision of an effective financial & management accounting management, support and reporting service to the client
You will be expected to partner with relevant business areas, provide specialist advice and identify opportunities for improvement to services, processes and procedures.
Required skill set:
* Sole ownership of month end management accounts
* Business partnering
* Knowledge of purchase ledger
* Excellent working knowledge of excel/managing excel models
* Public Sector experience
* Microsoft Dynamics experience
* Fully understanding of basic fundamentals at a transactional level – journals, accruals, prepayments etc
* Attention to detail in all work that is done
* Working in Logical/methodical ways
Responsibilities:
* Managing month end - journals (accruals, prepayments), closing the books, review against budget
* Month end reporting to budget holders – variance analysis and commentary
* Business partnering/monthly reviews with budget holders – advising on commercial/financial matters
* Budget management/forecasting
* Overseeing purchase ledger – PO’s, goods receipting, invoicing
