The Purpose of the Role
As a key member of the Facilities team, you'll help ensure the safe and effective operation of electrical distribution and associated plant. You'll work proactively, uphold the highest standards of HSE performance, and support the shift towards a more multi-disciplined technician capability.

Key Responsibilities

Champion Health & Safety, ensuring all activities follow Risk Assessments, JSA and site procedures.
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of electrical and process systems.
Safely diagnose, analyse, and rectify plant faults—driving down downtime and preventing recurrence.
Use CMMS/Maximo to plan work, record activities and review maintenance findings.
Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions and improvement initiatives.
Inspect, test and maintain MCCs, electrical distribution systems, VSDs, DOL and Star-Delta equipment.
Assist with hazardous area inspections and ensure compliance with DSEAR and ISO standards.
Work closely with process operators and technicians to maintain efficient plant operation.
Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on reliability, efficiency and cost reduction.
Liaise with suppliers and service engineers on technical issues and contract support.
Support the training and development of colleagues, apprentices and operators.
About You
We're looking for a hands-on technician who brings strong electrical, control or instrumentation experience within a process or chemical plant environment. You'll be:

Time-served in Instrumentation/Control or Electrical Engineering.
Experienced in electrical drives, MCCs, power distribution and maintenance methodologies.
Confident with fault-finding using wiring diagrams and distribution drawings.
Familiar with COSHH, risk assessments and method statement preparation.
Skilled in problem-solving techniques such as 5 Why, Fishbone or RCA tools.
IT-literate and comfortable using maintenance systems.
A proactive team player, eager to broaden skills and support a multi-disciplined approach. Minimum qualification: ONC (or equivalent) with a recognised apprenticeship.
If you don't meet every requirement but believe this role aligns with your skills and ambitions, applications are encouraged
