INSTALLATIONS & LOGISTICS MANAGER

LONDON

Our client is a Large Format & Display company based in South West London. Looking for an Installations & Logistics Manager who will be responsible for establishing, leading and continuously improving the Installation & Logistics process. The role is accountable for the planning, scheduling, resource allocation, cost control, subcontractor management, health & safety compliance and successful delivery of all installation projects.

Working closely with Sales, Project Management, Studio, Procurement and Production departments, the role ensures projects progress efficiently from Production through the installation process. The position carries responsibility for profitability, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction and the development of installation standards and procedures.

Primary Objectives:

Build and formalise the Installation & Logistics process
Develop robust installation planning and scheduling processes
Ensure projects are installed safely, efficiently and profitably
Control installation labour and subcontractor costs
Recruit and develop installation personnel if required
Improve utilisation of labour, vehicles, equipment and materials
Deliver exceptional customer service and project outcomesProject & Operational Management:

Receive project handovers and interpret client requirements
Review specifications, drawings, elevations and site requirements
Identify installation methodologies and resource requirements
Organise site surveys and pre-installation inspections
Liaise with Studio regarding artwork, proofs and approvals
Liaise with Production to ensure products are installation-ready
Procure specialist materials, fixings, equipment and subcontract services
Plan labour requirements, access equipment and installation sequencing
Monitor progress throughout production and installation stages
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality standards
Support project close-out and invoicing activitiesInstallation Planning & Scheduling:

Plan and schedule all installation and delivery activities
Allocate work to employed installers and subcontract installation teams
Maintain installation calendars and workforce planning schedules
Ensure labour resources are matched to project complexity and deadlines
Coordinate accommodation, travel and logistics where required
Monitor future capacity and identify recruitment requirements
Maintain contingency plans for resource shortages and programme changes
Desirable: SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS, IOSH or NEBOSHSubcontractor Management:

Create and maintain an approved subcontractor database
Record subcontractor rates, qualifications, competencies and performance
Select installation partners based on project requirements
Negotiate rates and control subcontract expenditure
Ensure subcontractors comply with company procedures and health & safety requirements
Review performance and maintain preferred supplier relationships
Identify new subcontractors to support business growthInstallation Preparation:

Ensure all installation teams are fully briefed and equipped before attending site
Installation packs shall include: Current job sheets / Site address and contact details / Client instructions / Artwork proofs / Elevations and drawings / Installation methodology / Risk Assessments and Method Statements / Site-specific requirements
Make sure all required equipment, specialist tools, access equipment, plant and fixings are available prior to installationHealth, Safety & Compliance:

Prepare and approve RAMS for all installation activities
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation
Conduct site inspections and audits
Verify training records, certifications and competencies
Ensure appropriate PPE is available and used
Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
Maintain compliance with client and principal contractor requirementsPeople Management:

Recruit, train and develop installation personnel
Conduct probation reviews and performance appraisals
Monitor productivity and quality standards
Manage attendance, holiday planning and workforce availability
Mentor installation team members and identify development opportunities
Build a positive, safety-focused and customer-focused team cultureContinuous Improvement:

Develop and implement installation procedures and best practices
Standardise installation documentation and workflows
Reduce waste, rework and inefficiencies
Improve labour utilisation and planning accuracy
Identify opportunities for automation, digitalisation and operational improvements
Report on performance and improvement initiativesFinancial Responsibilities:

Monitor installation profitability
Review labour costs against estimates
Review subcontractor invoices against approved budgets
Ensure installation costs are accurately captured within project costing
Identify cost-saving opportunities
Support continuous margin improvement across installation activities
