Installation Engineer 

 I am recruiting on behalf of my client for an experienced Installation Engineer to join a specialist engineering team supporting the installation, servicing and maintenance of chemical dosing systems used within commercial laundry and warewash operations onboard cruise ships worldwide.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Installation Engineer who enjoys problem-solving, working in varied environments and delivering exceptional customer service. The successful Installation Engineer will play a key role in supporting customers globally, with extensive travel both across the UK and internationally.

The role offers a flexible home-based setup, with approximately 75% of your time spent onboard cruise ships. Travel assignments typically last between 2–4 weeks, with time back in lieu provided.

As an Installation Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

Installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing chemical dosing equipment for commercial laundry and warewash applications
Carrying out fault-finding, diagnostics and safety inspections on installed machinery
Working with electrical and plumbing systems within a cruise ship environment
Supporting onboard installation projects alongside project managers, engineers and contractors
Preparing equipment, accessories and consumables for installation and maintenance activities
Completing service reports and technical documentation accurately and on time
Providing technical support and training to customers and end users where required
Building and maintaining strong customer relationships through professional service deliveryTo be considered for this Installation Engineer position, you should have:

City & Guilds 17th Edition Electrical Installation qualification or a relevant electrical engineering background
Previous experience within a field-based or hands-on engineering role
Experience working with three-phase electrical systems and equipment
Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and repair skills
The ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team
Excellent organisation, communication and customer service skills
A willingness to travel extensively and stay away from home for extended periods
Experience within commercial laundry, warewash systems, dosing equipment or plumbing environments would be advantageousThis Installation Engineer opportunity would suit an adaptable and safety-conscious engineer looking for a varied role that combines technical challenges, international travel and customer-facing engineering support.
