Job Title: Ingredients and Liquids Specifications Specialist - Multinational Beverage Company

Location: Menstrie, Scotland

Contract: 12 months (likely to be extended)

Working pattern: 3 days onsite and 2 day remote

Salary: £35 per hour

SRG are working with a multinational beverage company to help them find a Ingredients and Liquids Specifications Specialist to join their team.

This role holder will be a subject matter expert and will engage with relevant stakeholders in Governance, Regulatory, Quality, Procurement, Brand Equity owners, markets/manufacturing sites and within our supplier base to ensure raw materials, ingredients and liquid specifications are reviewed, created, standardised, stored and managed as per global Diageo standards. This role will support the Ingredients and Liquids Specifications Manager to deliver this programme.

Responsibilities:

Expert knowledge of raw materials, cereals, ingredients and liquids to ask critical questions in the development of new to world specification templates enabling effective and efficient sourcing opportunities.
Work closely with Global Technical Governance, Regulatory, Procurement, suppliers, markets and manufacturing sites as well as with Liquid Teams to understand the effects of specification changes on supply sufficiency, sustainability, compliance with regulatory framework, processing efficiency, cost, productivity, quality and food safety of the respective liquid in an end-to-end, holistic approach.
Ensure specifications are reviewed and signed off, compliant with the applicable processes, to not only avoid any changes or disruptions to supply, but to also drive opportunities to streamline and drive efficient and effective supply chain and procurement practices.
Work closely with Regulatory to foresee and prepare for changes in the regulatory framework to deliver approved specification updates on time to minimize the risk of stock write-offs due to non-compliances at the time regulatory changes will come into effect.
Manage specification completion and approval, escalating any challenges or potential impacts to the timeline.

Requirements:

Minimum bachelor's degree in food/beverage science, relevant science degree or significant demonstrable experience (over 5 years).
Relevant industry professional qualification in raw materials, cereals, ingredients and/ or liquids (Example: MAGB Diploma in Malting or Institute of Brewing & Distilling Diploma in Brewing and/or Distilling).
Subject matter expertise in raw materials, cereals, ingredients, beer, spirits and formulated products.
Over 5 years' experience in relevant industry such as malting, brewing, distilling or liquid formulation.
Operational and Quality Assurance experience is advantageous.
Ability to review data with internal and external stakeholders and be able to cut through ambiguity, drive decisions and seek clarity for project completion.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with and influence key stakeholders internally and externally, including senior leaders.
