Senior Test Engineer / Test Lead
Corsham/Hybrid - 3 days per week onsite
Up to £600 per day Inside IR35
Active DV clearance - Sole UK National
We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer / Test Lead to support a critical, secure technology programme in Corsham.
You will take ownership of the testing strategy and delivery across a Platform as a Service (PaaS) environment, ensuring the quality, reliability, performance and security of platform services and user-facing functionality.
The role will involve a combination of manual and automated testing, alongside developing test plans, managing test coverage, monitoring performance and reporting findings to senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Own and oversee test coverage, ensuring test cases are appropriately prioritised across different testing phases.
Develop and manage structured testing schedules, including verification and validation activities.
Define, monitor and report on key testing metrics, identifying trends, risks and areas for improvement.
Ensure testing is delivered iteratively and incrementally, enabling early identification and resolution of defects.
Raise and manage engineering tickets to address issues identified during testing.
Produce monthly testing metrics and management information for service reviews.
Communicate testing progress, risks and issues to the Platform Management Team and senior stakeholders.
Work closely with technical teams and customer representatives to ensure testing meets programme requirements.
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience in a Senior Test Engineer or Test Lead position.
Strong understanding of the end-to-end testing lifecycle and associated metrics.
Experience developing test strategies, plans and schedules.
Experience with both manual and automated testing.
Experience working within virtualised environments.
Understanding or experience of working with air-gapped systems.
Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior-level stakeholders.
Ability to identify, articulate and manage technical risks and issues.
Desirable Experience
Experience working within an ITIL framework.
Previous experience in secure or government technology environments.
Experience managing client relationships and engaging with customer stakeholders.
