Cleaner - Temporary Opportunity

Location: Girvan, Scotland
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm - Early finish at 2pm on Fridays!
Pay Rate: £13.65 per hour
Contract Type: 4-5 weeks - could be extended

Overview of the Role

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a reliable and hard-working Cleaner to support operations at their site in Girvan. This is an ongoing temporary position offering consistent, full-time weekday hours.

This role is based within an industrial environment, so the successful candidate will be responsible not only for office and welfare areas, but also for maintaining cleanliness across factory and warehouse spaces. You will play a key role in ensuring the site remains clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As a Cleaner, your responsibilities will include:

Cleaning and sanitising offices, communal areas, and washroom facilities
Maintaining cleanliness across warehouse and factory floor areas, ensuring a safe working environment
Carrying out general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting
Cleaning around machinery and equipment (in line with safety procedures where applicable)
Ensuring floors and high-traffic areas within production and storage spaces are kept clean and hazard-free
Emptying bins and disposing of waste in accordance with site processes, including industrial waste where required
Replenishing consumables such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
Identifying and reporting any maintenance issues, spillages, or potential hazards promptly
Adhering to all health and safety regulations, particularly within an industrial setting
Completing tasks efficiently while maintaining a consistently high standard of cleanliness

Requirements

We are looking for a dependable and proactive individual who can work effectively in a busy, industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have:

A strong work ethic and a reliable approach to attendance and timekeeping
Good attention to detail, with pride taken in maintaining high standards
The ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Confidence working within a factory or warehouse environment
Previous cleaning experience (particularly in industrial settings) is beneficial, though not essential
