Key Stage 1 and 2 Individual Needs Assistant

Location: Seaford, East Sussex

Start date: September 2024

Hours: 8:30-3:30 PM full-time

About the role:

Supply Desk are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Special Educational Needs Assistant to work with a child or group of children on a 1:1 individual basis. A Teaching Assistant with prior experience of working with children with SEN is desirable for this role, in order to support the child’s development and meet their additional needs. This INA position is a full time, long term role in order to allow for the development of positive relationships between the INA and the child.

Key Responsibilities:

Building a positive relationship with the child you are working with - nurturing their social, emotional and mental health development.
Providing a positive and stimulating learning environment and managing challenging behaviours
To support the class teacher during learning activities.
To monitor the child’s well-being and safety
The ideal Candidate:

Previous experience working with individuals with Autism and SEMH needs is desirable.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
Flexibility to adapt to the individual’s needs and schedule.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant Education qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
