Independent Advisor - Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA)

£650 per day

Minimum of 6 days consultation per month

18-month contract with view to extend

Remote/London

Summary:

the successful delivery and embedding of low-carbon, climate-resilient projects in Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDEs). Your expertise will guide strategic decisions, facilitate investor engagement, and ensure alignment with the evolving climate finance landscape. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence impactful climate action and drive sustainable development globally.

Responsibilities:

* Provide expert guidance on market maturity, project viability, and the regulatory environment in target countries to inform project selection and country prioritisation.

* Offer strategic direction to in-country processes and broader program implementation, ensuring alignment with climate finance objectives.

* Cultivate relationships with private finance investors, facilitating their participation in CFA events and fostering collaboration.

* Contribute to and facilitate CFA workshops, leveraging your expertise to enhance project development and investor confidence.

* Engage actively in the CFA Advisory Board, offering insights and recommendations to optimise program outcomes.

* Support the embedding of CFA initiatives at both the country and global policy levels, advocating for sustainable climate finance solutions.

* Assist in sourcing funding opportunities locally and globally, contributing to the program's financial sustainability and growth.

* Provide ad-hoc expert advice relevant to the CFA's objectives, responding promptly to emerging challenges and opportunities.

Qualifications:

* Demonstrated expertise in climate finance, project finance, or related fields, with a strong understanding of market dynamics and investment trends.

* Proven experience in advising on low-carbon, climate-resilient projects, preferably in EMDEs, and navigating complex regulatory environments.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and foster collaboration.

* Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a results-oriented mindset and a commitment to driving positive change.

* Advanced degree in finance, environmental studies, international development, or a related field preferred.
