Due to the partnership between Hays and Sandwell Council, we are looking for experienced Income Recovery Officers to join the Council on a full-time, temporary ongoing basis. The Service is responsible for managing, monitoring and recovering arrears of rent and other housing related charges from current and former tenants. A key objective is to combine the effective recovery and arrears with the provision of a high-quality customer-focused advise, assistance and support service.Your new role
As an Income Recovery Officer you will contribute to the provision of an efficient and effective customer-focused Income Management Service. To ensure prompt and appropriate action is taken to control and recover outstanding former tenant deft, current garage debt, and low level/statistic current tenant arrears. You will also undertake clerical and legal administrative duties when required by the service. You will identify and effectively monitor all accounts within your area of responsibility, including taking payments and to take appropriate action in accordance with established procedures. When required, resolve low level/static current tenant debt. You will also recommend cases for write-off in line with the councils write-off procedure. This is a full time position that offers hybrid working after a 6-8 week training course, which will be office based. What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate should have experience within income or debt recovery and have excellent communication and customer service skills, be able to work under minimal supervision and be highly organised.
