Import Forwarding Clerk
c£32,000
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Import Forwarding Clerk to join their busy Import Department in Felixstowe.
Working alongside the Import Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing import shipments from arrival through to final delivery, ensuring customs compliance and providing excellent customer service throughout the process
Key Responsibilities:
* Processing import shipments and maintaining accurate job files using CargoWise
* Completing customs entries via CDS and ensuring timely customs clearance
* Arranging deliveries and liaising with shipping lines, hauliers and customers
* Managing bills of lading, releases and arrival notices
* Handling duty, VAT and deferment account administration
* Completing IPAFFS, GMR and other regulatory documentation
* Monitoring shipment progress and resolving operational issues
Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years' customs clearance/import forwarding experience
* Good understanding of customs procedures and bills of lading
* Knowledge of CargoWise and CDS advantageous
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
