Description:
JOB PURPOSE
* To assist with the daily administration pertaining to the import and export of goods.
* Work with freight forwarders to ensure imports and exports flow correctly and smoothly.
* To assist with the compliance of customs and export control regulations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
* Maintaining the internal import/export filing system, for reporting and auditing purposes.
* Providing import clearance instructions to carriers and freight forwarders.
* Auditing of import and export customs entries.
* Liaising with freight forwarders & HMRC to amend import and export customs entries.
* Undertake daily review and release export held shipments in the ERP system.
* Support the goods in, despatch and stores inspection areas as required.
* Assist the Import and Export Coordinator to ensure compliance with import and export regulations, including tariff codes, valuation and trade restrictions, to avoid delays or penalties.
* Serve as a point of contact for internal departments and external customers, providing updates and resolving issues as required.
Experience
* Shipping and interaction with carriers/brokers such as DHL and FedEx (preferable).
* Working knowledge and experience of UK import regulations and processes.
* Working knowledge and experience of UK export regulations and processes.
* Knowledge and experience of export control regulations
