Questech Recruitment are recruiting for a Hygiene Supervisor to join the team at one of our well established clients based out of Bridlington. This is a permanent role to start as soon as possible.

The Role

To liaise with the Director of Production and manage the Hygiene Operation in all aspects of cleaning to ensure and maintain safe and hygienic conditions within the manufacturing environment and related areas. Implementation of daily/ weekly and in-depth hygiene schedules, and organisation of contractor cleans. Monitoring cleaning results, through visual microbiological analysis, by liaison with the technical team.

Expectancies & Accountabilities

- Liaise with the Director of Production to manage the day-to-day cleaning requirements and report any issues

- Develop Team skills to achieve multi skilled hygiene teams.

- To manage the day to day work and effectiveness of the Hygiene team across all shifts.

- Organise the training of the Hygiene team and, where required, find suitable training resource

- Liaise, where appropriate, with the Shift Supervisor to prioritise Production requirements

- Monitoring cleaning schedules for adherence, and improve / reschedule as necessary/required.

- When required, oversee site security

- When required, liaise with Site Contractors to maintain site security standards

- Prioritise and delegate hygiene duties as appropriate

- Manage and change, where appropriate, staff shift patterns to ensure that production schedules / deadlines are met

- Implement and maintain Health & Safety requirements of the team.

- Work to a high standard ensuring attention to details at all times to ensure that documented

- Cleaning procedures are maintained and verified.

- To be reliable and conscientious to work alone or as part of a team

- To be flexible in terms of contractual hours

- Ensure that all Hygiene related documentation is completed and, where required, suggest and implement additional records for completeness

- Immediately report any machinery defects which may have an impact upon production schedules

- Where appropriate, assist in the development and training of new departmental employees

- Control and monitor stocks and usage of consumable and cleaning detergents / sanitisers to control effective usage & cost

- Organise holidays with the team to ensure adequate hygiene cover over these holidays

- Monitor consumable stocks and re- order as required

- Create Cleaning Instruction Cards (CIC’s) and implement “sign-offs”

- Audit CIC’s and working procedures.

- Audit the manufacturing areas and implement extra hygiene resource where required.

- Liaise with Chemical supplier.

- Assist during customer visits and audits. (Experience of BRC would be advantageous)

- Adopt a functional role in managing performance / absence management within the team.

About You

- Supervisory / Hygiene management skills

- Knowledge of Health & Safety within the working environment

- Manual Handling

- Communication Skills to include verbal and written English

- Good time keeping and attendance is essential

- Must be flexible with working hours to enable supervision across all shifts

- Have knowledge of HACCP, COSHH and Health & Safety

- BRC / Audit experience

- Have a high level of attention to detail

- Be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently and make decisions
